As reported by our friends at Hearing aid Know in Rechargeable Hearing Aids 2017 | What Can You Expect For Rechargeable Hearing Aids in 2017? Unitron is planning on introducing a new Rechargeable hearing aid in the near future. At Clements Hearing we really think that is great news. Rechargeable hearing aids are exceptionally popular, so it is great to see a consumer focused hearing aid manufacturer deciding to introduce them.
We don't know much about the hearing aids as they haven't released much information yet. We can speculate though, they will be based on their very popular Moxi Fit hearing aid. It is a small, attractive receiver in canal device which you can see on the right.
While Unitron launched their groundbreaking Now on the North platform, it is getting a bit old. We kind of expect Unitron to launch a new platform along with the new rechargeable device. Again, we aren't sure, but that kind of makes sense.
Will they go with Lithium-ion as the power pack? Unitron is part of the Sonova group just like Phonak. So again it probably makes sense for them to do so. However, Unitron has always done things its own way, so it would not surprise me to see them go a different route. We should know all the details soon enough as they are expected to make an announcement by late February or March by the latest.
We are looking forward to it, it will mean that we have a full line provider again. One who is committed to the Patient experience and who introduces Patient focused technology.
